Uplift Series, 2012–2013: The wind under the bird’s wings creates an uplift. The bird ascends and sees the bigger view. Uplift came after embracing hard emotions around the death of an old friend. Sitting with the disturbed feelings for a time, and allowing them into my work, led to their transmutation, which resulted in the uplift image.

The painting image involves a central, upward panel of color. As it ascends, it collides with energy of another sort. A dance between the two results. This dance is essential, if we choose to fulfill our ultimate potential. We keep moving forward along our life path only if we tend to our karma; our baggage; the things we have to work through in our lives.

Each image takes the form of a central vertical shaft of color. As it ascends, it collides with energy of another sort. A dance between the two results. This dance is essential if we choose to fulfill our ultimate potential. We keep moving forward along our life path only if we tend to our karma; our baggage. Shown at Oakopolis Gallery with artist Kim Thoman, including catalog, and in a group show at Stinson Beach Gallery in Marin County.
