Vortex: With shift in symbols came change in medium. Used oil bar and acrylic for more opacity and texture. Ominous imagery of vortexes attacking and invading familiar symbols. Breaking up the peaceful energy. Exploring new symbol. Exploring midlife, with all its anxiety and uncertainty.

Geometric: I began to struggle with two-dimensional imagery, wanting a more three-dimensional feel. Pushing boundaries. Breaking out and away from the past. Continuing with vortexes, exploring shaped canvas and vortexes from new angles. Trying to break free from the flat plane toward more sculptural forms. Work shown in two-person show at 60th Street Gallery in Oakland with ceramic sculptor, James Hewes.
